SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS

Thanks to all who participated in the Lenten Folder project. $143.00 was raised for the Good Samaritan Fund to assist those in need. 

 

The last day of Sunday School is May 18th.  We will celebrate with the entire congregation at a picnic at The Toledo Zoo!!! From 12:30pm to 3:30 pm in the Broadway Pavilion we will enjoy lunch, friendship AND the lions & tigers & bears!  Oh, my!!!  The Zebra lunch includes:  hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and more.  Discounted admission tickets and parking tickets available.  For additional information concerning this event, check out the  posters that  are posted throughout the church.  If you have  questions, contact Ernie for more information and tickets.

PARISH LIFE & GROWTH NEWS

 

Adult Night Out on April 5th was held at Smokey Bones on Dussel Dr in Maumee.  There were 26 congregation members who attended.  The evening was full of the four G’s: Great people, Great food, Great  drinks and Great conversation.  We are always looking for a few more GREAT PEOPLE!  Please consider attending our next evening out on June 7th @ Mi Hacienda, Glanzman Road in Toledo.

 

Ladies Night Out. 

The first official St. Petri “Ladies Night Out” was held on Tuesday, April 1st at Don Pablo’s.  It was a terrific evening filled with fun and wonderful fellowship.  We had 12 ladies attend!!!  Our next night out will be on Tuesday, May 16th at the Gourmet of China on Chesterfield & Reynolds.  Meet there at 5:30pm.  No need to sign-up, just SHOW UP!!!  For more information, contact Judy Day at 419-868-1777.

 

Homeless Kits

A big thank you to all who donated items, made kits, or donated money for this outreach project.  Also thank you to the Luther League and Michelle Fifer who assisted in sorting and assembling the kits.  A total of 42 kits were sent to Helping Hands of St. Louis which benefit the homeless in our area.

 

Volunteers are needed to staff the nursery at the 9:15AM worship service.  We have people who are willing to serve, however, additional help is needed.  A sign-up sheet is posted on the nursery door.  Pray and consider volunteering for this ministry.

Join us for a rainforest program of faith-filled fun! At Rainforest Adventure you will hear stories about Jesus, make cool crafts, sing fun songs, play zany games, eat super snacks, and make lots of new friends!!

 

Volunteers are needed to teach, help with snacks, classroom helpers, recreation, music, crafts.  All youth grades 7-12, parents and other adults are invited to be servants, helpers.  To volunteer, sign up in the Narthex, call the church office at

Crusin’ At The Creek

Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek is having a Car Show on Thursday, May 15th from 5:30pm-8:00pm.  There will be food and music will be provided by DJ Bill.  Dash Plaques and Door Prizes for Car Show Entries.  Come out and enjoy an evening of reminiscing.  For more information, contact Sue Boyne at 419-861-5619.  

 

Heartbeat of Toledo is holding its first annual golf outing on May 15th at the Fallen Timbers Fairways.  Shotgun start at 1:00pm.  Entry fee is $55.00 per person or $220.00 per team.  For further information contact Dawn Weaver at 419-535-8729.  Available hole sponsorships are 100% tax deductible.  Early sign up insures your place in the line up!!!

 

St. Mark’s Lutheran Church will be having a Rummage “Bag and Tag” Sale.  Friday, May 2nd from 9:00am - 4:00pm ($8.00 Bag and Set Priced Items).  Saturday, May 3rd from 9:00am - 1:00pm ($3.00 Bag and Discount Day).  Lunch will be available each day from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
