MUSIC MINISTRY “Singing Waterlife” MAY 2010
C.A.P. Shares the Good News
April 7th during their spring break our two C.A.P. members, Paige Cottrell and Samantha Krause, went with me to three nursing homes. At Swan Creek we sang for residents in the Care Center. Then we visited my dear friend, Betty Foster. Although she was sleeping the nurse said “Go ahead, sing to her. She can still hear you.”

Our next stop was the Elizabeth Scott Home. We presented our member Mary Jane Palenske with an Easter lily. Her companion, Joanne, invited us to go along to another building where a group of ladies were about to play Black Jack. They were all delighted to listen to us sing songs about Jesus Christ first.

At Sunset House we found our 101 year-old member, Charlotte Krull. She opened her eyes for a moment as I told her we had come to sing for her. Her niece, Nancy, even joined us in a hymn. It seemed strange to see Charlotte without her famous smile. On previous visits she would sing along with me. But on this day we felt honored to be with these precious souls, Betty and Charlotte, on their fresh-hold of eternity Each passed within a day of our visit.
Charlotte Krull had been a member of our Senior Choir for many years. She always asked about her St. Petri friends by name and would proudly introduce me as her choir director.

Out last stop was to give an Easter lily to Beverly Harms and sing for her and others as they gathered for dinner at Sunset House. Paige and Sammy were so gracious as they shared their faith through song.
We ended the afternoon with ice cream at my home in the sunroom. Good Shepherd Sunday
What a joy on April 25 to include guests Gwen Senerius and Donald Jackson in our choir as Ed Bloedow played oboe for the beautiful “The Lord is My Shepherd” by John Rutter. On May 23 we will have an opportunity to recognize all our faithful Senior Choir, C.A.P. Choir and Praise Team musicians.
